SAFEGUARDING

The Safeguarding Team is here to support you.

‘The school safeguarding team works constructively with external agencies and is persistent when it is concerned about a pupil’s welfare. The records that it keeps regarding these pupils are thorough and document in detail how each pupil has been supported’

INFORMATION FOR OUR PARENTS AND CARERS

The staff and governors of Turves Green Boys’ School recognise their responsibility to make sure that appropriate arrangements are in place to safeguard and promote the welfare of its students, as per Section 157 of the Education Act 2002. The school is committed to supporting and training all staff in matters of child protection awareness. For more information on what schools and colleges must have regard to when carrying out their duties to safeguard and promote the welfare of children, you may wish to explore the link below to the ‘Keeping children safe in education’ statutory guidance.

We offer a support and guidance service whereby your child can speak to a member of the Safeguarding Team in confidence about any issues that may be concerning them. We offer our students total confidentiality, providing they do not disclose to us something which would put them or others at risk. If something of this nature is disclosed, we inform you, if appropriate, and also any relevant agencies. This is explained to all our students before they speak to a member of the Safeguarding Team. In most circumstances, we strongly encourage students to make their parents and carers aware of any concerns.
