Parents in Partnership

When parents are actively involved in their child’s education, children do better on a wide range of measures. These positive effects include:

  • Better results

  • Better behavior

  • More confidence and greater self-esteem

  • Higher attendance rates

  • More enthusiasm about learning

In fact, John Hattie, a prominent educational researcher found that "the effect of parental engagement over a student's school career is equivalent to adding two or three years to that student's education". This is why we believe it is crucial that we work in partnership with parents.

There are likely to be times when your son will be affected by issues outside of school that will have a detrimental impact on his education and his wellbeing. The links below outline the support we can give your son beyond the curriculum. For any further information on how we can support your son’s wider personal development please contact Mrs Alexa Oshodi, Assistant Headteacher a.oshodi@tgbs.co.uk
